My Story

It all started with the worst night of my life...

It was the dead of winter and I was living with a friend in a tiny 1 room temporary apartment that had no heat.  

I had spent the last year starting my business, building a team, adding overhead and trying to raise venture capital.

I had bought into all the hype that you have to raise venture capital to scale a business. I was spending all my time (and a lot of money we didn't have) on pitching, investor meetings, and the huge amount of work that came along with it. 

All of this, coupled with unforseen life circumstances had left me flat broke with my business dying on the vine. 

The worst part is, sales was a total black box to me. When it came to sales, I was totally clueless.

It was 3:00am and very real consequences were crashing down around me. I sat in the middle of my bed in the tiny cold apartment and cried, because I was actually losing almost everything important to me.

The next morning, I picked myself up and made a promise that regardless of what happened. I'd always have control of my sales pipeline. I would do whatever it took to get it right. My business was the only thing I had left, and I wasn't going down without a fight.

Over the next year I dedicated myself to mastering sales and learning at every opportunity. I tried things, failed, and tried again. 

I only sought out experienced entrepreneurs who had actually been in my place before

I kicked the venture capital raise to the curb, and focused all my time exclusively on sales.

Within 90 days, our pipeline went from $0 to $750k. We finished the year with 230% growth and the business has grown 2x every year since. 

Even more important, I felt free. Nothing was stopping me anymore.
